I guess I can’t forgive myself for all my crimes
I’m forever grateful for these years
I lay my body in the road and close my eyes
Disappearing lightning in the field
You know I am such a fraud
There’s not a picture in my wallet of you dear
But I am not a cheat
I’d turn the soil beneath your feet
To walk you here
On and on
Messengers of formless light come swarming in on every side
They emptied me of dawn
They left me all alone
Once I was the single cell, they broke me open, no one dared
To carry me from harm
They left me all alone
You watched me from the porch
My fingers reaching helpless towards the iron sphere
But you were not so cruel
You stepped out in the morning dew
And watched your heart get rearranged
Til every thought I had was vague
If clarity is fruit ripe upon a branch
Mine was just a passing hunger, acceptance at last
Til I watched it slip away
Some may know Farmer from his time under the Monarch Mtn name. Happy to see Western Vinyl has picked up on what a talent this guy is. 'Still No Mother' delivers such a subtle venom, one that works its way into the bloodstream long after the music has ended. Farmer's music impacts in much the same way as that of Damien Jurado or Bill Callahan. The songs seem as if they've been on rotation for many years, like visiting an old friend, instantly familiar and welcoming. Lost Tribe Sound
Subtle psychedelia for track 1. Retro qualities for track 2. It's like listening to unknown 45s your parents had on the record player you had as a kid. Custom Made In 1968
